I was draw to Bet Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant by the cover. I mean, the chemistry is popping right off it. I would actually like to know what happened after that picture was taken… anyways…
The plot of this 386 page book is – McKenzie “Kenzie” Lane is newly graduated from college and looking forward to a dream internship she has lined up for the summer in LA. Unfortunately, her controlling mother has other plans.
Colby Singer, with his hot-as-sin looks and wicked charm, is never without attention from the ladies. Despite suspecting how Kenzie feels about him, he’s always kept her comfortably off-limits since she’s the baby sister of one of his best friends. But when he’s determined to distract her temporarily from the stress of her mother’s ultimatum, deciding to show her some fun, he quickly finds that keeping her in the friend zone is not as easy as he’d hoped.
Once Kenzie realizes this may be her last opportunity to gauge her long-time crush’s true feelings, she puts it all out there in the form of a bet. It’s the perfect idea for her perfect man.
Until he isn’t.
Will a dose of reality lead to true love? Or will it crash and burn before it can even get started?
My View – The second I read that fans of The Kissing Booth would like this book, it had my full attention and was an absolutely addicting read. Although it’s compared to TKB, it is very much the adult version. It’s one of the more provocative books I have chosen to review but not the most erotic I will review. I have been saving those until I am comfortable enough to share… which is coming sooner than later (no pun intended), Skye Warren I am looking at you.
The story line is common. Guys falls for best friends little sister who also has a thing for him… yada, yada, yada, but they switch it up a bit by placing bets and teaching someone how to kiss properly. A very important lesson for all.
It takes twists and turns you don’t see coming and your heart will soar, break and mend right along with Kenzie and Colby.
I seriously adored Bet Me Something so much that I don’t want to give anything away.
