Between Then And Now

Okay, the month of June is absolutely insane for me so to keep up with my very overloaded schedule and goals list, I will be featuring short stories. Since most romance books can be seen as a short story, there was a criteria that had to be met. Each one had to be under 80 pages. Truly a quick read which is exactly what Between Then And Now by Zoe York  is.

The plot of this 67 page story is – Romance is the last thing on Ian’s mind. He’s juggling two jobs, his kids are crazy and every time he gets close to his wife, she snaps at him. Communication has never been their strong suit, and now their physical connection is fizzling as well.

Carrie knows she’s being too hard on her husband, but eight years ago she had a one-night stand that turned into a lifetime of diapers and dinners. She can’t shake the feeling that she wants more. Too bad she has no idea what that might be.

Between Then and Now is a standalone novella in The Wardham Series. 5 chapters, 16, 000 words. Also includes an excerpt from the next book in the series.

My View– This book hit a special part of me. I knew it would the second I read the plot because marriage ruts are real.

Carrie and Ian’s story is fairly familiar to my own in a the sense that my husband works an insane amount for us and stress levels run high. Sometimes at the end of the day we forget who we are other than Mother or Provider and need to remember how to be a spouse. The most important part of these ruts are how you come back together and this story reminded me of just that.

Truly a heart felt read. Pick up your copy here
